It’s surprising how far ahead you have to plan to get your classes lined up. I was working on my summer class schedule and that got me planning ahead for fall already. Time flies!
Before we talk about summer, I just want to remind you there are two Zentangle Basics classes coming up on the Pro-D Day this May 19th. The morning class is for kids 7-12 and the afternoon class is for teens 12-18. Both classes cover the same material as the adult class, so if you have a child in mind who will be at loose ends the Friday of the long weekend, this might be just the ticket! Registrations close May 12th so be sure to contact me soon if you’re interested.
Zentangle Basics starts off the summer month – it’s on a Friday night, June 9th, so that those who want to attend Tangle Island and need Zentangle Basics first can come to my class Friday night and continue on with this amazing 2-day workshop Saturday and Sunday, June 10-11. The two CZTs teaching at Tangle Island are Jerryann Haggart and Nancy Dawes; they always provide a full weekend of activities and fun – and they spoil us with food and goodies, too! I’ll be attending the workshop as a student, and am so grateful to have this chance to continue learning more about Zentangle and Zentangle Inspired Art techniques. If you’d like to know more about Tangle Island, you can check it out and register here. My next Zentangle Basics class will be in September
I’ll be teaching two more classes before I take a break from summer. Black Magic is Friday, June 30th from 6-9 pm. It’s the night before Canada Day – a great way to celebrate the start of the summer season! Next is Renaissance Treasures Saturday, July 15th in the morning (10-1). After that, I’m teaching a week-long Zentangle Explorations camp for kids 7-12 in the morning, and for youth 12-18 in the afternoon for the week of July 24-28. Visit my online store to register for Black Magic and/or Renaissance Treasures, and to register for the RDN summer camps, visit this page and plug in Zentangle Explorations.
In working out the summer classes I needed to think about what I wanted to offer this fall, so I’ve got the fall schedule set up already. Details are a little sparse, and the sample images are just what’s in my current Zentangle library, so this will be fleshed out a little more over the coming months. If you’ve subscribed to this website (right sidebar) or my ATL newsletter, you’ll see more information coming. In the meantime, check the calendar on this website (or the online store) for dates and descriptions for these 4 classes.
And just for fun, the MAC’s monthly Tangle Time continues the second Saturday of every month from 2-4 pm at the McMillan Arts Centre, 133 McMillan Street in Parksville. Tangle Time is free by donation, and drop-in; anyone who has gotten interested in Zentangle is welcome to come and join this wonderful group of welcoming and fun tanglers.
As always, lots going on in our little community – Happy Tangling!
