If you’re enjoying Zentangle, Christmas might be the perfect time to share the love!
Give a Zentangle gift
Tangle a gift tag, a note card, a blank Christmas card, or take a favourite tangle and fasten it to a blank card for a special holiday greeting. Punch a hole in a tangled ATC and thread some ribbon to make a tangled gift card. Even plain brown or white wrapping paper can be tangled in black – or with coloured Sharpies to make your own gift wrap.
Visit an Art Supply store
While you can’t purchase many Zentangle products in an art supply store, you can stock up on all kinds of treats for a tangler to treasure. Think gelly roll pens, coloured micron pens, markers, pens and coloured pencils. Then add some artist paper – sketch paper in white, tan, gray or black, or Strathmore tiles, or special watercolour paper. If your giftee is into Artist Trading cards, specialty paper is also well received. There are a few Zentangle books written by CZTs available in art supply stores and good bookstores. Check them out for the way they are formatted, the kinds of tangle patterns and art ideas they have, and especially, whether the Zentangle method is explained. Every CZT has their own spin and you may prefer the layout of one CZT’s book over another.
Local Art supply stores to check out: Oceanside Art Gallery in Qualicum Beach, Iron Oxide in Nanaimo, Island Blue, Opus and Art World in Victoria. Michaels sometimes has some items, but reports back say the prices are a little higher than you’d find in an art supply store. Even WalMart has a few good finds depending on what you’re looking for. Online, check out Amazon.ca and Curry’s for Canadian sources and forget the hassle of the US exchange and shipping across the border.
Get Zentangle® Supplies at the Source
For those special things like official Zentangle tiles and products like bookmarks, tote bags, water bottles, hoodies, frames, etc. check out www.zentangle.com. They have all kinds of cool things you don’t need, and lots of tiles and products that would be a joy to play with. I also have an online store where I carry some items in stock, and I’m always happy to order anything for you from Zentangle.com and quote you Canadian prices with shipping and tax included before you place your order with me.
This fall I’ve added a gift certificate and gift card option in my online store as well. You can purchase a gift certificate for one of my classes, or talk to me about purchasing a gift card in the denomination of your choice.
Psst – pass on my contact information along with your wish list and I’ll be sure your Santa grants your Christmas Zentangle wish, too!
